Cemex introduced Cemex Go Quarry Link, its new digital program designed to simplify the product ordering and pickup process.

Cemex Go Quarry Link, which is supported by the company’s global aggregate network, began with a pilot program at Cemex’s FEC Quarry in Miami. Under the pilot program, which is still underway, customers order aggregate prior to arrival.

Upon entering FEC Quarry, RFID sensors scan tags affixed on customer trucks, initiating the digital process and, in turn, each customer’s corresponding order.

Customer trucks are again scanned at the entrance scales, and customers are directed to corresponding automated loadout stations, where digital technology blends and produces the preordered aggregate mixes. Once loaded, trucks are weighed on exit scales to ensure load accuracy, and an automated dispatch system expedites the end ticketing process.

“At Cemex, we are focused on our customers, and we want them to get what they need, when they need it, quickly and accurately,” says Jaime Muguiro, president of Cemex USA. “By leveraging technology and connecting our quarries digitally, we are able to give our customers additional value by reducing the time they need to spend at our quarries and allowing them to get back to their projects.”

Pit & Quarry visited FEC Quarry earlier this summer for an exclusive look at Cemex Go Quarry Link. According to the company, Cemex quarries across the United States are currently implementing Cemex Go Quarry Link.

“With Cemex Go Quarry Link, we are aiming to improve the experience for our customers by focusing on the issues that matter to them,” says Graham Hardwick, vice president of aggregates for the West Region at Cemex USA. “They are concerned about cycle times, knowing where their trucks are and what products are available. Cemex Go Quarry Link offers a connected, digital solution that provides greater transparency to the whole process, enabling our customers to better manage their time and business.”

In addition, Cemex is also piloting the digital Cemex Go Pick-Up app, which informs customers of wait times and allows them to have greater visibility of available products.

Cemex Go Quarry Link joins Cemex Go, launched in 2017, among the company’s digital programs. After initially being implemented in the United States, Cemex Go was introduced globally earlier this year.
