A brand-new year arrives later this week, bringing with it a slate of new opportunities in which Pit & Quarry readers can engage the magazine.

Our January 2022 edition will soon be making its way out to you. It not only contains a pullout supplement fully dedicated to screening, but you’ll find that our ongoing “Road to Recovery” series transitions to “Road to Prosperity” starting in January.

P&Q debuted “Road to Recovery” midway through 2020 to keep aggregate producers in the know about developments related to the economic downturn. The industry successfully emerged from the original uncertainty that the pandemic produced, and producers found ways to grow in 2021 despite obstacles in the supply chain and with labor shortages that aren’t going away just yet.

Still, it’s clear producers are in a different place today relative to 2020. They’re operating with more confidence, but they still have a need for critical market information that can guide them on their own road to prosperity. Thus, we present a new name and look for our revamped series in the January 2022 edition.

A new year also means two more Pit & Quarry events readers can enjoy.

First is the Pit & Quarry Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony & Dinner, which will take place March 28 in Nashville just ahead of AGG1 Aggregates Academy & Expo. The magazine will enshrine a pair of 2021 inductees (EJ Burke, Nathan P. Stedman) along with members of the 2022 class (to be announced).

Our black-tie induction ceremony is a ticketed event and will be the eighth in the history of the hall of fame.

The magazine will host a second 2022 event June 7-8, when the Pit & Quarry Roundtable & Conference returns. This annual P&Q event will take place at Chateau Elan outside of Atlanta. Producers with an interest in attending can contact me at kyanik@northcoastmedia.net. Manufacturers, dealers, service providers and others wishing to sponsor the Roundtable can contact publisher Rob Fulop at rfulop@northcoastmedia.net or Dino Vitanza at dvitanza@northcoastmedia.net.

The P&Q staff’s first quarter of 2022 is filled with event-related travel. Look for us in January at World of Concrete and the Ontario Stone, Sand & Gravel Association’s Operations, Health & Safety Seminar. We’ll also be at ISEE’s 48th Annual Conference on Explosives & Blasting Technique and the SME Annual Conference & Expo.
