SRM Concrete and SRM Materials continue down the merger and acquisition path, striking deals this month with R.W. Sidley in Painesville, Ohio, Tri-County Stone Co. in Morrison, Tennessee, and Cheboygan Cement Products in Cheboygan, Michigan.

Last month, SRM Concrete acquired ready-mixed concrete assets in Texas from Vulcan Materials. The assets included 82 ready-mix plants and 11 volumetric locations.

The Sidley deal

SRM Concrete’s deal with R.W. Sidley includes 11 ready-mix plants, one block plant and two aggregate docks.

“We are excited to bring the Sidley team on board here at SRM Concrete,” says Jeff Hollingshead, CEO of SRM Concrete. “We look forward to strengthening our customer service capabilities in the northeast Ohio and western Pennsylvania markets with our new team of experienced operators.”

The Tri-County Stone deal

SRM Materials, meanwhile, made the deal for Tri-County Stone.

“We are excited to bring the Tri-County team on board at SRM Materials,” says Ryan Hollingshead, president of SRM Materials. “This synergistic acquisition will complement our existing quarries in Cowan and Woodbury, Tennessee. We look forward to working alongside our new team members and supplying aggregate to our customers in the area.”

The acquisition is the sixth for SRM Materials in Tennessee. The company’s materials division has grown to 23 sites across eight states, specializing in limestone, river rock and sand products.

The Cheboygan Cement Products deal

SRM Concrete’s acquisition of Cheboygan Cement Products includes two ready-mix locations in Alpena and Hillman, Michigan. The acquisition expands the company’s service to customers in northeast lower Michigan.

“We’ve been servicing the northern Michigan market for several years now, and we’re looking forward to strengthening our service capabilities with the great team we added today,” Jeff Hollingshead says.
