SRM Concrete acquired Vulcan Materials Co.’s ready-mixed concrete assets in Texas, adding 82 plants and 11 volumetric locations across the Lone Star State.

The acquisition marks SRM’s entry into several Texas markets, including San Antonio, Austin, Abilene and Amarillo. The deal also strengthens the company’s ready-mix presence in the Houston and Dallas-Fort Worth markets.

SRM says it is now the largest ready-mix supplier in Texas.

“We’re excited about welcoming more than 1,100 new team members to our SRM family,” says Jeff Hollingshead, CEO of SRM. “We will be gaining nearly 100 new locations and a significant amount of equipment, but what really matters to us is the people. It’s their skills and experience that are our true assets. We can’t wait to start working and growing together in Texas, side by side with our new team.”

SRM, which was founded in 1999 in Smyrna, Tennessee, operates quarries, ready-mix plants, cement terminals and block plants while offering a variety of ancillary services. SRM has made more than 100 acquisitions since 2005, and it employs more than 8,300 people across 19 states.
