P&Q paid a visit this fall to Knife River Corp.’s Scamardo Plant in Caldwell, Texas. An assortment of wet processing equipment from CDE is central to the plant. Knife River representatives pictured atop the plant in this photo, from left, are special projects manager Curtis Worley, plant manager Kellen Mathis, plant operator J.J. Reyes and vice president of operations Benjamin Carlson. Carlson recently relocated to northern California for Knife River.

In addition to visiting Knife River in Caldwell, P&Q caught up with company representatives at the inaugural Dirt World Summit in Houston. Knife River promoted its Oregon training center within the meeting’s exhibit hall. Among those in attendance from Knife River, from left, were training specialist Alex Reyes, heavy equipment instructor/operator Mike Glazier, training center director Kris Latimer and learning services director Dan Abbott.

Also on hand for P&Q’s visit to Knife River’s Scamardo Plant were CDE’s Andrew Bunting and Adrian Mannix. Bunting serves CDE as customer relationship manager for the Americas while Mannix is business development manager. CDE operates out of Cleburne, Texas. The facility two and a half hours to the north is close enough to readily address any issues that might surface with Knife River’s plant.

Also at the Dirt World Summit, P&Q bumped into representatives from Wm. D. Scepaniak (WDS) – including Bryan Scepaniak, Ty Clintsman and John Scepaniak. Based in Minnesota and serving the Upper Midwest, WDS is a family-owned and -operated aggregate services contractor whose history dates back more than 50 years.
