Vulcan, Summit among Newsweek’s ‘responsible companies’

Several aggregate producers appear on Newsweek’s annual list of “America’s Most Responsible Companies 2024,” including the nation’s largest aggregate-producing company and several other public companies.

Vulcan Materials cracked Newsweek’s top 600, appearing at No. 564.

Other aggregate producers to appear on the Newsweek list are Summit Materials (No. 266), U.S. Silica (No. 347) and Arcosa (No. 545).

Several manufacturers and technology providers serving the aggregate industry appear on the Newsweek list, as well. Xylem, a global water technology provider that helps customers solve water challenges, is No. 2 on the list. John Deere (No. 128), Mettler-Toledo International (No. 161), Terex Corp. (No. 329), Applied Industrial Technologies (No. 516) and Trimble (No. 535) also made the cut.

According to Newsweek, the ranking of “America’s Most Responsible Companies 2024” focuses on a holistic view of corporate responsibility that considers all three pillars of corporate social responsibility: environment, social and corporate governance. Newsweek partnered with global research and data firm Statista for the annual list.
