Vulcan Materials Co. hosted about 250 neighbors and guests this fall for a community day at its Chula Vista Quarry in Chula Vista, California.

According to Vulcan, visitors enjoyed food trucks, education stations that offered details about the company, a photo station and driving tours of the site courtesy of the San Diego Trolley.

Additionally, Vulcan says kids in attendance had the opportunity to visit a face painting station and do trick-or-treating at the education stations. Visitors also had the chance to “touch-a-truck” and enter a free raffle.

Also, Vulcan partnered with the Chula Vista Firefighters Foundation, a longstanding community partner, on the event. The Chula Vista Firefighters Foundation had a station with its mascot, Rocky the Fire Dog – donated by Vulcan in 2018 – who visited with guests.

Vulcan says it will make a donation to the Chula Vista Firefighters Foundation for each community member who attended.
