Sandvik Mining & Rock Solutions is supplying 34 surface drill rigs to Country Boy Supply (CBS), one of its newest dealers in the U.S.

The order of 34 surface drill rigs is the largest single order of surface drills for Sandvik.

“We are very pleased to deepen our partnership with Country Boy Supply and deliver the most productive and powerful surface drill rigs available to upgrade their fleet,” says Mats Eriksson, president of Sandvik Mining & Rock Solutions. This partnership will further strengthen our position in the surface drilling solutions market.”

Some of the drills are destined for Two Eight Drilling, a Country Boy Supply customer.

“The key to getting this across the finish line was that both teams at CBS and Sandvik, along with the other members of the supply chain, worked together seamlessly,” says Jake Schmidtlein, general manager of Country Boy Supply. “This is an excellent example of how business-led collaboration across the whole chain can create value for all parties.”

Deliveries of the drills are scheduled to start this quarter.

“We are delighted to partner with Country Boy Supply and deliver the most productive and powerful surface drill rigs available to upgrade their fleet,” says Ville Keinänen, business line manager for surface drills at Sandvik. “These new drill rigs will help increase profitability and productivity over their life cycle.”

According to Sandvik Mining & Rock Solutions, Country Boy Supply already had a large order focusing on the construction market in Georgia and Tennessee when Two Eight Drilling, its largest customer, decided to switch to Sandvik Mining & Rock Solutions equipment. The record-setting order includes 16 Leopard DI650i drills, six Leopard DI550 drills, five Pantera DP1600i drills, three Ranger DX800 drills, three Ranger DX700 drills and one Pantera DP1500i drill.

Sandvik Mining & Rock Solutions says the intelligent surface drill rigs will be used for production drilling in large quarries or open pit mines, as well as at construction worksites.
