The National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (NSSGA) named Ryan Crosbie as the recipient of its 2020 Environmental Leadership Award.

Crosbie is the director of environmental legal compliance at CRH Americas Law Group. NSSGA made the announcement during the virtual town hall at its Legislative & Policy Forum.

Crosbie has served on NSSGA’s Environmental Subcommittee and other NSSGA Committees for several years, according to the association. He contributed his expertise and understanding of the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) stormwater permitting to the NSSGA’s comments to the agency. NSSGA says his engagement and input proved invaluable to member understanding and efficacy.

“Ryan is a great example of how important members’ specialized knowledge are to effective advocacy,” says Michael Johnson, president and CEO of NSSGA. “I am thrilled to honor him with this award, as his contributions have greatly impacted not just our industry, but in effect the entire country as his work to improve the permit for stormwater will be reflected across every state.”

In addition to his contributions to NSSGA, Crosbie has worked for CRH/Pike industries for 12 years, growing his experience in permitting and environmental compliance. He has a masters of science in Geology from University of Nevada-Reno and is a professional geologist in New York and New Hampshire.
