Andrew Boyd will become president of Boyd Cat on May 10, Louisville Business First reports.

According to the publication, Boyd will become the second member of his family to lead the company. Boyd’s father, Monty Boyd, is currently CEO of Boyd Cat.

The Boyd Cat name emerged earlier this year after Cecil I. Walker Machinery Co. completed its merger with Whayne Supply Co. The change took place following more than 10 months of transitioning the brand from Whayne and Walker to Boyd Cat, the company says.

According to Boyd Cat, Whayne Supply and Walker Machinery were two of the oldest Caterpillar dealerships – founded in 1913 and 1950, respectfully. With 175 years of combined history, Whayne Supply and Walker Machinery provided service, equipment and parts as a Cat dealer throughout Kentucky, southern Indiana, West Virginia and southeast Ohio.

“Our promise is, and has always been, to put our customers first in everything we do,” said Joseph Yoerg, Boyd Cat executive vice president and CFO, earlier this year. “This merger allows us to make the day to day easier for our customers, our employees and our valued industry partners.”
