LafargeHolcim shareholders will vote on a proposed company name change May 4 at the LafargeHolcim Annual General Meeting.

According to LafargeHolcim, shareholders will be asked to vote on changing the company name from LafargeHolcim to Holcim. The company’s board of directors recommends simplifying the name for efficiency and impact while building on the company’s legacy.

The name change concerns only the company name, LafargeHolcim says. All market brands will remain the same.

With 70,000 employees worldwide, LafargeHolcim says it is present in more than 70 markets through its four business segments: cement, ready-mixed concrete, aggregate, and solutions and products.
