Granite Construction reports that its materials revenue and gross profit increased year over year in the second quarter due to continued strong demand and higher volumes in both aggregate and asphalt within the company’s vertically-integrated California and Northwest operating groups.

Companywide, Granite says its second-quarter revenue was up 5.3 percent compared to the same period in 2020. Quarterly revenue was up to $964.2 million.

Additionally, Granite’s gross profit increased to $116.9 million in the quarter versus $88.3 million in the second quarter of 2020.
