Eagle Materials president, CEO plans to retire

By |  January 26, 2016

Eagle Materials announced Steve Rowley, president and CEO, plans to retire on March 31. Rowley worked with Eagle Materials and its stockholders for 25 years. Rowley says he plans to continue to work with the company’s management for the next two years in an advisory role.

“I’ve been privileged to lead an organization that is the undisputed benchmark company in our industry today,” Rowley says. “The timing of my decision is driven by recent surgery complications that are restricting my mobility and my capability to fulfill what I view as the full set of CEO role dimensions.”

The company appointed Dave Powers, executive vice president for Gypsum Wallboard at Eagle Materials, to serve as the company’s new president and CEO after Rowley’s retirement. The company also added Powers to its board of directors.
