Casella, a provider of air sampling, noise and vibration monitoring systems, launched its Guardian2 site boundary monitor for reporting dust, noise and vibration levels.

The Guardian2 is equipped with a photoionization detector and measures volatile organic compounds up to 6,000 parts per million to assess emissions to prescribed limits. The system also measures wind direction and speed to determine if emissions are coming from the operation or off-site.

In addition, SMS/email alerts can be set at different levels so for example to set alerts for if dust dampening is required.

According to the company, the Guardian2 is transportable and reporting can be done either automatically or manually and sent to multiple users.

“The remediation of contaminated land sites can prove to be a challenging undertaking,” says Tim Turney, technical product manager at Casella. “Casella is proud of its ongoing commitment to reducing environmental risks. The Guardian2 allows for effective boundary monitoring solutions that can help mitigate any environmental issues during construction.”
