Vulcan adds former Waste Management CEO to board

vulcanmaterialslogoVulcan Materials Co. added David Steiner to its board of directors.

According to the company, Steiner will serve on its safety, health and environmental affairs committee, as well as its governance committee.

Steiner most recently served as CEO of Waste Management Inc. from 2004 to 2016. He currently serves on the board of directors at FedEx.

“We are extremely pleased to welcome David to the board,” says Tom Hill, Vulcan’s chairman and CEO. “He brings to Vulcan a wealth of expertise in business operations, land management, transportation and logistics, financial management and strategic planning.”

In addition, Vulcan revealed that Elaine Chao stepped down from its board after being confirmed by the U.S. Senate as secretary of transportation.

Vulcan is a producer of construction aggregate and other construction materials.
