Superior debuts vertical shaft impactor

By |  October 13, 2016

Superior Industries released its patent-pending Valor vertical shaft impactor (VSI). According to the company, the Valor is its second equipment solution for crushing bulk materials after launching the compression-style Patriot Cone Crusher in 2015.

The Valor VSI features a cartridge style, right angle pinion gearbox, which allows for a safer deck-mounted motor arrangement. It also boasts a hydraulically powered lifting lid that allows for safe and easy access to the crushing chamber. Finally, the VSI incorporates an autogenous rotor design, which encourages more rock-on-rock crushing, according to the company.

The impactor is manufactured for rates up to 800 tph and maximum feed sizes up to 8 inches.

Superior Industries, headquartered in Morris, Minnesota, engineers and manufactures bulk material processing and handling equipment and components related to the machinery. It supplies bulk crushing, screening, washing and conveying systems for the construction aggregate, mining, bulk terminals, agriculture, power and biomass industries.
