The Missouri Limestone Producers Association (MLPA) recognized more than 80 stationary and portable plant crews with MLPA Safety Awards for their safety records and performance in 2016.

Award categories include the Safety Commendation For No Lost-Time Accidents, as well as the Consecutive Years Without A Lost-Time Accident Award and the Multiples of 100,000 Hours Without A Lost-Time Accident Award.

According to MLPA, the award winners are chosen after an extensive review by the MLPA safety committee. They are then presented to the recipients at the MLPA Annual Convention.

“Each year ,the Missouri Limestone Producers Association recognizes companies for their commitment to workplace safety, and we commend them for their records in operating a safe workplace,” says Jacci Gamble, MLPA’s safety committee chairwoman. “It is important that we recognize companies who set exemplary safety records and acknowledge them in their efforts to promote health and safety at their respective worksites.”

Quarries recognized for 20 or more years without lost-time injuries include Boone Quarries’ West Quarry, Boone Quarries’ East Quarry, Central Stone Co.’s Knox County Stone and Beyer Crushed Rock.

MLPA is a statewide service organization for 47 companies engaged in the production of crushed stone and aggregate for commercial, residential, agricultural and infrastructure needs.
