ContiTech Iowa plant to expand in 2016

By |  January 11, 2016

ContiTech’s Mount Pleasant, Iowa-based industrial hose plant will undergo a $7.2 million expansion in 2016. The company made the decision to expand the plant in response to increasing demand for industrial hoses in the NAFTA region.

“We have plans to add 30,000 sq. ft. to our plant, and that includes an additional production line, which will increase our total floor area and our capacity by 20 percent,” says Rick Anderson, plant manager for ContiTech. “We anticipate that the expansion will enable us to add about 12 to 14 workers.”

According to ContiTech, the plant currently employs slightly more than 200 workers. Construction work will begin in the late first quarter of 2016 and be completed by the end of 2016.
