Yokohama Tire Corp. named Bruce Besancon as its senior director of off-the-road (OTR) tire sales.

Besancon will report to Jeff Barna, COO of Yokohama. He will take over this position from Tim Easter, who is returning to the field to work more closely with customers, the company reports.

Prior to this position, Besancon served as vice president of marketing at Alliance Tire Americas (ATA). Before working at ATA, he held a number of positions at Michelin, including global product manager, North American marketing director for earthmover products and field engineer.

“Our OTR team is already one of the best in the industry, and it just got a lot stronger with the addition of Bruce,” Barna says. “He will be a major asset for us because he has nearly 30 years of OTR tire experience – counting 20-plus [years] with Michelin – and has expertise in several areas, including product development and marketing.”

Yokohama Tire Corp. is the North American manufacturing and marketing arm of Tokyo, Japan-based The Yokohama Rubber Co. Ltd. Its product line includes tires for light trucks, passengers cars, commercial trucks and buses, and OTR mining and construction applications.
