Holcim’s ECOPact low-carbon concrete was selected as the Contractors’ Choice Award winner in the inaugural Next Level Awards program at last week’s ConExpo-Con/Agg and IFPE.

According to the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM), which hosts ConExpo-Con/Agg every three years, the Next Level Awards program celebrates exhibiting companies that push boundaries and develop next-level products, technologies and services that are designed to advance the construction industry.

ConExpo-Con/Agg and IFPE attendees voted for their favorite of 10 Next Level Awards finalists at the co-located trade shows to determine the Contractors’ Choice Award winner.

“We are proud to announce Holcim as the winner of the inaugural Next Level Awards – Contractors’ Choice,” says Dana Wuesthoff, show director of ConExpo-Con/Agg. “Their commitment to excellence and innovation in the construction industry is truly impressive, and it is evident that they are highly regarded by the industry.”

According to AEM, ECOPact provides the global construction industry with a versatile solution to address the carbon challenge, offering up to 90 percent lower CO2 emissions versus standard concrete mix designs. Projects using ECOPact low-carbon concrete represent the future, AEM adds.

“We are honored to have ECOPact low-carbon concrete recognized as the Contractors’ Choice for the inaugural Next Level Awards program,” says Toufic Tabbara, region head of North America at Holcim. “We are committed to changing the way we build a more sustainable future and helping our customers reduce the carbon footprint of their projects.”

AEM says the 10 finalists in the Next Level Awards program were selected by a diverse panel of Associated General Contractors of America members. Products were judged based on three criteria:

• Addresses a common industry need in a unique and innovative way
• Benefits the industry across multiple applications for industrywide adoption
• Positively impacts the safety, sustainability and workforce of the industry
