Portable plants were aplenty at ConExpo-Con/Agg, where they were exhibited inside Central Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center and in the outdoor Silver Lot. Here’s a look at the portable crushing plants showcased in Las Vegas:

SBM Mineral Processing participated in ConExpo-Con/Agg for the fourth straight time, showcasing a track-mounted Jawmax 400 jaw crushing plant.

The Jawmax 400, like the other 12 Jawmax jaw crushing plants SBM offers, has a diesel-electric drive. SBM says the combination of onboard diesel and a performance-tuned generator powers the plant’s electrified crushing, screening and conveying equipment.

According to SBM, all of its plants have intelligent integrated controls that relieve operators in setup and operation. Even inexperienced machine operators can safely operate and access the full performance of Jawmax models, the company says.

Separately, Kleemann introduced a pair of portable crushing plants at ConExpo-Con/Agg.

The Mobicat MC 110i EVO2 jaw crushing plant and the Mobicone MCO 90i EVO2 cone crushing plant were among the equipment and technology Kleemann had on display. Both plants feature the D-Drive drive concept, intelligent overload systems and the Spective operating concept – plus Spective Connect.

Kleemann’s Spective includes various components that are ideally tuned to one another and accompany machine operators throughout the workday. The mobile offering, Spective Connect, supports worksite digitalization, apart from the touchpanel and different radio remote controls that come with Spective. Spective Connect displays relevant process information and reporting on a smartphone without having to leave the feeding device.

According to Kleemann, both the Mobicat MC 110i EVO2 and the Mobicone MCO 90i EVO2 can be equipped with an optional double-deck post screening unit. They can produce two classified final grain sizes without the use of an additional screen plant, the company adds.

Another piece of technology Kleemann highlighted at ConExpo-Con/Agg is what it describes as its “clever line coupling.” The company says this allows plants to be easily coupled together.

Apart from the optimized material transport in all crushing stages, Kleemann says the new wireless line coupling guarantees safety. If an emergency stop button on the plant train is pressed, all machines are safely stopped. This is carried out via radio on crushing plants equipped with Spective.

Eagle Crusher also made a statement at ConExpo-Con/Agg, where its new UltraMax 1600X-OC portable impactor plant towered over show visitors in Central Hall.

Eagle Crusher showcased the 1600X-OC alongside its new 8-ft. x 20-ft. screening plant that includes an integrated feed conveyor. The company says the two new plants are designed to be companion pieces.

The 1600X-OC features the UM69X impactor, which is the largest Eagle Crusher has available. The impactor has a 69-in. x 51-in. feed opening and a variety of unique features.

“It has a large, sloped feeder, but it is also available with a flat feeder for [a] recycle/concrete application,” says Daniel Friedman, vice president of marketing at Eagle Crusher. “There’s an optional jib crane for ease of removal and flipping of blow bars. We have this new optional hydraulically actuated flop gate to either take your grizzly fines and blend them back into the crush or remove them entirely via the grizzly discharge conveyor.”

According to Friedman, the 1600X-OC is the largest plant Eagle Crusher makes. At ConExpo-Con/Agg, he pointed out that one customer using the plant was crushing 40-in.-minus basalt and “seeing or exceeding 1,000 tph.”
