An attrition mill within Superior Industries’ line of washing and classifying machinery provides an efficient solution for sand applications, including disintegration of conglomerates, material separation, and surface cleaning and polishing. The attrition mill’s tank and propellers are coated with urethane, which helps them endure tough sand-cleaning applications. In addition, the mill was designed with round tubs in order to eliminate swirling and corner material collection. The attrition mill is also equipped with a large, watertight sealed door that eases maintenance for machine operators by eliminating the heavy lifting that comes with drive removal, Superior adds.

Sandmaster wash plants are designed to improve portability and simplify assembly, maintenance and operation, according to Weir Minerals. The compact, semimobile units can be installed and commissioned in a short period of time and relocated with ease, the company says. Offerings include single- and dual-grade sand washing units, with key wear locations rubber lined for added wear resistance. Weir Minerals says Sandmaster wash plants are especially useful in washing fine and coarse sands, including dry sand and sand slurry.
