Wash plants are only as reliable as the water sources feeding them, Clearwater Industries says. Clean water carries clays and silts away from washed products, keeping them in spec. Dosing polymer solution into the slurry as it enters settling ponds results in solids dropping out of suspension faster, creating smaller ponds and thicker, more easily handled buckets of mud. Clearwater says even efficient ponds take up valuable real estate and are costly to maintain, but they’re eliminated altogether through the use of clarifiers.  According to Clearwater, its clarifiers consistently produce 55 percent solids by weight mud discharge, reducing the volume required for sludge storage, drying times and handling expenses. Ninety-plus percent of the water is immediately returned for reuse in a clear state. The Autofloc dosing sensor measures the solids content of the slurry in real time to conserve chemistry and maximize performance.

Fusion modular plant packages from Superior Industries include dozens of options for aggregate-washing applications. According to Superior, the modular systems offer bulk producers a faster, more economical solution to developing and commissioning a new processing plant. Modular platforms are compact for smaller footprints, Superior says, offering convenient maintenance features and integrating seamlessly with the company’s crushing, screening, washing and conveying products. Wet processing plants include pre-engineered systems for scrubbing, classifying, dewatering and washing using a combination of Superior’s blade mills, coarse and fine screws, log washers, dewatering screens, cyclones and wet screens. Each system is designed with plug-and-play, pre-wired electrical connections and is optimized for efficient shipping.

Screw washer solution offers various features

Eagle Iron Works’ (EIW) Condor coarse material screw washer washes crushed stone and gravel to remove deleterious material such as soluble clays and dust coatings from the crushing process. The Condor will also wash, dewater and classify sand and other fine material. According to EIW, the Condor is constructed behind a heavy-duty design and durable wear parts. The screw washers are manufactured with U.S. steel, and they’re built with Dodge Torque-Arm II reducers that afford the Condor a long life of continuous operation. The screw washers also come with a standard value line of urethane flight shoes, EIW says, but users can upgrade their flight shoes to a premium urethane or Eagle Armor if they wish.
