By |  April 30, 2012

Vulcan Materials Co. has filed definitive proxy materials with the Securities and Exchange Commission in connection with its 2012 annual meeting of shareholders, to be held on June 1. The company’s board of directors has also sent a letter urging shareholders “to protect the value of their investment in Vulcan Materials” by rejecting Martin Marietta Materials’ offer to acquire Vulcan Materials at what it calls “a grossly inadequate price” and by voting for Vulcan Materials’ nominees on its proxy card.
