U.S. Concrete enters new market in Texas

By |  March 5, 2018

U.S. Concrete acquired an aggregate-producing facility that is in close proximity to the market in Amarillo, Texas.

The newly acquired facility is part of Golden Spread Redi-Mix assets and will provide extensive reserve life in Amarillo, the company says. Golden Spread operates an aggregate and cementitious products trucking fleet that supports its ready-mixed concrete and aggregate operations.

“This acquisition supports two of the company’s strategic initiatives with the entrance into a new Texas market with expansion capability and increased vertical integration within our operating footprint,” says Bill Sandbrook, vice chairman, president and CEO of U.S. Concrete. “The ability to self-supply aggregates for such a large operation will ensure long-term value for our shareholders.”

U.S. Concrete’s acquisition of Golden Spread also includes 10 fixed ready-mixed concrete plants and a portable ready-mixed concrete division, consisting of five plants.
