Doug Chappel

Tsurumi Pump named Doug Chappel as its regional sales manager for the Southeast.

Chappel, who joined the company in February, will assume the responsibilities of Chuck Kratz. His territory includes 11 southern U.S. states and the Caribbean islands.

In this role, Chappel will be responsible for establishing new distribution channels throughout the region, identifying revenue opportunities and providing expertise to new and existing customers.

According to Tsurumi Pump, Chappel brings more than 25 years of experience in the field of pumping equipment and fluid systems. He founded two pump-related companies – Lucas Technologies and Sligo Systems – and also served as a distributor of Tsurumi pumps. He worked as the managing principal for Landmarc Environmental Systems, which acquired both of his companies in 2012.

“Doug has an entrepreneurial spirit that will serve him well at Tsurumi,” says Glenn Wieczorek, managing director for Tsurumi Pump. “He has run two companies of his own and knows what it takes to generate sales and maintain relationships. In addition to that, he has the engineering expertise to walk our customers and distributors through every step of the design process. He’s exceptionally well-rounded, and we’re lucky to have him.”

Tsurumi Pump provides pumping technology for the construction, civil engineering, mining, industrial wastewater, domestic wastewater, sewage treatment, flood control and scenery creation fields.
