somersetJ&J Truck Bodies & Trailers and J&J Truck Equipment transitioned their ISO 9001:2008 certification to the ISO 9001:2015 standard.

Somerset Welding & Steel serves as the parent company to both J&J Truck Bodies & Trailers and J&J Truck Equipment. ABS Quality Evaluations, an international auditing and certification body, issued the certificate of conformance. The scope of the certificate of conformance applies to the following items:

  • Design and manufacture of dump bodies, trailers, pressure vessels and truck equipment
  • Mobile hydraulic system design and installation
  • Pressure vessel installation, repair and inspection
  • Installation of vehicle-mounted truck equipment
  • Sale and repair of equipment used in construction, mining, energy and gas production, utilities, state and municipal governments
  • Custom fabrications using stainless steel and aluminum

According to Somerset Welding & Steel, J&J was one of the first truck body manufacturers in the United States to receive its ISO 9001 certification in 1997. The ISO standard requires an annual surveillance audit and a recertification audit every third year by an underwriting agency like ABS to verify conformance to the ISO 9001 standard.
