The Timken Company, a manufacturer of engineered bearings and power transmission products, released the Timken brand line of split cylindrical roller bearing housed units.

The units are designed to reduce maintenance time and cost where bearings are mounted in hard-to-access locations, according to the company. Furthermore, the split bearing unit solution features removable support caps and housing halves to simplify component inspections or reduce time needed to replace bearings.

“Customers can reduce fitting time as much as 90 percent by using our bearing units,” says Nick Dent, business unit manager at The Timken Brand. “These units are completely split to the shaft, meaning you don’t have to remove couplings, gearboxes or other equipment to install bearings. It’s a maintenance problem-solver that’s already seen a strong response in the markets we serve.”

According to the company, all Timken split cylindrical roller bearing housed units feature a Timken split cylindrical roller bearing unit with machined brass cages and a single-piece cage clip designed for accurate alignment and fitting.

The complete line ranges from 1-7/16 in. to 24 in., suiting all types of industrial requirements. In addition, Timken offers five different housing configurations along with multiple sealing options for a wide range of work environments.
