Terex Finlay hosted an Americas customer open day near San Antonio, where visitors from the United States, Canada, South America, Ireland and Russia saw new equipment in action at Martin Marietta’s Medina Quarry.

Terex Finlay showcased three models to the North American market for the first time, including the I-140 impact crusher, the C-1540 direct-drive cone crusher and the 674 inclined screening plant.

The company’s onsite demonstrations featured eight Terex Finlay machines in all across three working demonstration zones. One other machine was on static display.

One demonstration featured the I-140 impact crusher feeding an 893 heavy-duty forward-facing screen. A second demonstration incorporated the J-1170 jaw crusher, the C-1540 cone crusher and the 674 inclined screen. A third demonstration featured the mid-sized 873 heavy-duty forward-facing screen.

According to Terex Finlay, the I-140 impact crusher incorporates the Terex CR032 impact chamber with direct drive and an advanced electronic control system. The machine provides operators with high material reduction ratios and produces a consistent product shape, the company says. The high productivity, ease of maintenance and operation make the machine an ideal solution for large-scale producers and contract crushing operators, Terex Finlay adds.

The C-1540 cone crusher, meanwhile, is an optimum machine for medium-sized producers and contract crushing operators, the company says. The machine features the Terex 1000 cone crusher that is choke fed with an integrated level sensor, automatic tramp relief and a hydraulic closed-side-setting adjustment. The large hopper/feeder has an automated metal detection and a purge system to protect the cone and reduce downtime by removing metal contaminants via a purge chute, Terex Finlay adds.

Also, the 674 inclined screen is a compact, easily transportable machine that offers operators rapid setup and teardown times, according to Terex Finlay. The screen box features three decks, providing a screening area of 170 sq. ft. to offer efficient screening – even at small fractions and high capacity. The screen box features quick wedge tensioning, access holes and a bottom-deck hydraulic tensioning system to reduce time required for mesh changes. All four discharge conveyors are adjustable and hydraulically fold for transport. The fourth product – “oversize plus” – conveyor has variable tilt and side slew to accurately discharge material for recirculation and stockpiling.
