The Texas Aggregates & Concrete Association (TACA) named Matthew Posey as its manager of government affairs and external relations.

In the newly created position, Posey is responsible for the development and implementation of public, regulatory and local and state government relations strategies and initiatives for the aggregate, cement and concrete industries in Texas.

“TACA is excited to welcome Matthew Posey as our new manager of government affairs and external relations,” says Josh Leftwich, TACA president and CEO. “His legislative experience will prove invaluable to TACA and help advance the interests of our member companies, who are responsible for providing critical infrastructure materials to the state, its residents and its businesses.”

Posey joins TACA after spending eight legislative sessions working in the Texas House of Representatives. Most recently, he served as chief of staff to David Cook, a Texas state representative. When the legislature was not in session, Posey worked on a variety of state and federal campaigns, including as field manager for Ben Carson’s presidential bid.

“I am thrilled to represent TACA in this role and look forward to working with our legislature and community partners on matters that help our member companies build the key infrastructure that supports the state’s unprecedented growth,” Posey says.
