Sensata Technologies acquires Preco Electronics

Sensata TechnologiesSensata Technologies, a supplier of sensing, electrical protection, control and power management solutions, acquired Preco Electronics.

According to Sensata, the acquisition of Preco “complements Sensata’s commitment to advance autonomy initiatives” for the heavy vehicle and off-road markets.

In addition, the acquisition extends Sensata’s capabilities in vehicle collision mitigation systems.

Earlier this year, Preco Electronics released Precolink, a wireless blind spot radar communication system, to support all Preco sensors and in-cab displays.

Based in Boise, Idaho, Preco Electronics has offered blind spot monitoring and collision avoidance systems for heavy and medium-duty and mobile equipment for more than 20 years. The company’s radar-based solutions mitigate collisions and minimize the occurrence of incident-related property damage, injuries and fatalities by protecting operators’ blind spots.
