We have a lot of customers doing change orders and adding quantities to already-existing sites, so that’s been really good for us. We’ve seen a really strong workload come in this year.

We had 60 or 70 percent of our workload before ConExpo-Con/Agg, and we have our jobs for state and local governments that come on later. It’s challenging at times to fit clients into your schedule, which is difficult because you hate to turn people away – especially when it’s good work. But we’ve been very fortunate as a company to be busier than we’ve ever been as far as revenue.

John Scepaniak is project manager at Wm. D. Scepaniak.

Editor’s note: As part of our Road to Recovery coverage, P&Q is turning to some of the industry’s leaders for their takes on the road ahead. Leaders such as Scepaniak were posed with the following question: As you look to the remainder of 2020, what factors give you reason for optimism about the aggregate industry?
