The heavy utility and towable utility safety gates from Battery Operated Barriers are designed for both short- and long-term use in gravel pits, mines or road construction environments.

Battery Operated Barriers offers three different safety gates: the heavy utility gate (HUG), the towable utility gate (TUG), and the towable utility gate Jr. (TUG Jr.). According to the company, the HUG can be anchored to the ground with pins or a security ring while the TUG and TUG Jr. can be towed by any vehicle on the highway.

The gates are easily deployable, according to the company, and can be used for traffic control, site and road closure, parking, and other day-to-day operations.

An optional solar panel allows the gates to operate independently, and the gates can be activated via wired pendants, long distance radio control, keypad, cell phones, card readers, and exit wands, according to the company. Each gate can also be outfitted with wheels and additional battery capacity for use in low light conditions.
