An investor consortium consisting of three German sand and gravel mining companies is taking over the business operations of Rohr-Idreco Bagger, effective Nov. 1.

After the takeover, Rohr-Idreco Group says its German subsidiary will operate under the name Rohr Bagger and employ about 30 people at a site in Mannheim, Germany. Rohr Bagger will focus on engineering and manufacturing clamshell and bucket ladder dredges for the European market.

The other Rohr-Idreco Group companies are not part of the sale.

Rohr-Idreco Group, headquartered in the Netherlands, specializes in the design and production of electrically driven dredges and equipment for deep dredging depths.

“Our extensive portfolio of intelligent dredges remains unchanged and unmatched,” says Richard Crowe, managing partner at Rohr-Idreco Americas. “We are excited to work with the new ownership team to continually improve our ability to build, service and support the new and existing equipment in our markets.”

Adds Fulco Vrooland, CEO of Rohr-Idreco Group: “Close commercial and technical cooperation between Rohr Bagger and the Rohr-Idreco Group will continue, giving us the opportunity to focus on our international expansion [while] still offering the full product portfolio of suction, clamshell and bucket ladder dredges.”
