Quarry Faces: March 2023

Among those to join Pit & Quarry at the Roundtable this year were (from left) Michael Johnson of the National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association, Damian Murphy of Peckham Industries, Karen Hubacz of Bond Construction Corp., Barry Hudson of Price Bee and Stevie Ward of Breedon Group. Johnson served as a Roundtable speaker, offering a legislative and regulatory outlook for attendees.

John Deere’s Amy Asselin (far left) and Kleemann’s Kelly Graves (far right) returned to the Roundtable, where they caught up with Capital Aggregates’ Jamie Jones. During this year’s discussions, Jones touched on data and the challenges it presents to aggregate producers. Says Jones: “We’re pulling in so much data, but what do you do with it? We’ve been trying to have our IT team sort through that and have employees focus on what they need to see.”

Turner Mining Group’s Thomas Haun (left) and Keaton Turner also returned to the Roundtable. Turner Mining Group first attended the Pit & Quarry Roundtable & Conference in 2019, when the magazine hosted its event at The Biltmore for the first time. Turner Mining Group has had a representative at the P&Q event every year since.
