Those participating in the Ohio Aggregates & Industrial Minerals Association’s (OAIMA) 2022 Emerging Leaders program gathered at Kalahari Resort in Sandusky, Ohio, for their fourth and final session of the year. The magazine paid a visit ahead of press time to Pro Lawn’s Darian Houssain (center), catching him on a contract crushing job in southwest Ohio where his team was utilizing the Trakpactor 480 impact crushing plant from Powerscreen. Joining Houssain on the job were Powerscreen Crushing & Screening’s Alan Coalter (left) and Connor Cobane.

Pit & Quarry hosted two events in 2022, including its Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony & Dinner. The ceremony took place in Nashville, where Dave Thomey (left) and EJ Burke were among those enshrined during a black-tie ceremony held in conjunction with AGG1 Aggregates Academy & Expo. Also enshrined in the Pit & Quarry Hall of Fame this year were Ted Baker and Nathan P. Stedman. The next Hall of Fame induction ceremony will again take place in Nashville in conjunction with AGG1 2024.

The other event the magazine hosted in 2022 was the Pit & Quarry Roundtable & Conference. This took place at Chateau Elan Winery & Resort outside of Atlanta, bringing aggregate producers, equipment manufacturers, dealers and other aggregate industry stakeholders together in June. Pictured during a welcome reception are Turner Mining Group’s Patton Deischer (left) and North American Mining’s Chris Taylor.

Also on hand for the Pit & Quarry Roundtable & Conference this year were (from left) Kleemann’s Thomas Jordan, Wingra Stone and Redi Mix’s Travis Wise, Kleemann’s Kelly Graves and Sara Feuling of the Association of Equipment Manufacturers. Feuling offered a preview of ConExpo-Con/Agg 2023 during the P&Q conference.
