P&Q representatives were in Atlanta for the Georgia Construction Aggregate Association’s (GCAA) Management Workshop & Expo at the Cobb Galleria Centre. Representatives from Geologic, which is based in Marietta, Georgia, were also at the annual GCAA event. Exhibiting for the fourth time at the Management Workshop & Expo, Geologic sent (pictured from left) Randy Kunz, Paul Gilbert, Ben Black and Stephanie Holmes to the show, which had record attendance for GCAA.

Representing GCAA (from left) were Mark Chesney, meeting and events coordinator; Stacie Carvotta, member services manager; and Jeff Wansley, executive director. During its Management Workshop & Expo, GCAA recognized graduates of its Safety & Leadership Development Course while presenting its Quality Control Technician of the Year Award.

Ryan Corkwell (left) and Anna Semonco were also in attendance at the GCAA Management Workshop & Expo, representing Conn-Weld. Also traveling to Atlanta for the company was Sean Weisiger, Conn-Weld’s aggregate operations director. Corkwell serves Conn-Weld as a district manager, while Semonco is director of business development.

Vinnie Rocco, executive vice president and COO of AMCAST (left), and Dustin Underwood, an account manager at the company, also exhibited at the GCAA Management Workshop & Expo. Underwood, who joined the company in March 2023, operates out of Ringgold, Georgia.

CAPT Services, a contracting company based in Braselton, Georgia, also participated in the Management Workshop & Expo. Andrew Waters (left) and Chandler Stinchcomb, owner and CEO of CAPT Services, attended the event. Stinchcomb, who previously spent time with Vulcan Materials as an intern, founded CAPT Services in 2019.

In addition to attending the GCAA Management Workshop & Expo, P&Q had representatives at MINExchange, the SME Annual Conference & Expo, held at the Phoenix Convention Center in Phoenix. During the show, the magazine caught up with Masaba’s Kirby Cline (left) and Jason Epstein of the National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association. Masaba offers a variety of equipment for aggregates, including solutions in conveying and material handling and portable plants.

Another exhibiting company at MINExchange was Supreme Manufacturing, whose main product and service lines are floating clamshell dredges and conveyors; ancillary dredge equipment like buckets, rock barges and work boats; land conveyors; bins and hoppers; subcontracting; and components. Representing Supreme at MINExchange were Jim Scrivens (left) and Adam Thurber.

P&Q’s MINExchange attendees also came across HEICO Fastening Systems’ Grant Cleavenger (left) and John Murphy as they navigated the aisles of the Phoenix Convention Center. HEICO, a 120-year-old company, specializes in fastening products for a variety of industrial markets.

P&Q also caught up with the representatives of TerraSource Global at the show. Pictured from left are TerraSource Global’s Mike Proost, Shane Hill, John Casey and Kevin Hambrice. The company was among the exhibitors at MINExchange.

Separately, the magazine hosted the 2024 Pit & Quarry Roundtable & Conference at PGA National Resort in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. A reception at the resort welcomed attendees, including (from left) Breedon USA’s Stephen Ward, Capital Aggregates’ Chris Williams and Jamie Jones, and Peckham Industries’ Damian Murphy.
