Tsurumi Pump says its GSZ Series contains some of the most robust, high-volume submersible dewatering pumps on the market. With four- and six-pole motors reducing the impeller speed, the company says parts wear life is extended significantly. Impeller materials are made of high chrome and stainless steel, meaning the GSZ Series is built to tackle demanding aggregate dewatering applications. The side discharge design enables smooth passage of abrasive materials. According to Tsurumi Pump, the GSZ four-pole models feature pressure-relief ports to protect the mechanical seal. This reduces the water pressure on the mechanical seal and protects it from water hammer damage. The GSZ models come with a water jacket that surrounds the motor housing, aiding in cooling.

Monitoring tool offers insights to better manage equipment

Xylem’s optimyze is a modular condition monitoring tool that provides health guidance and predictive maintenance advice for rotating and fixed assets such as pumps and motors. Using predictive analysis, the technology identifies potential problems with pumps or motors before they occur, enhancing system reliability. The tool periodically monitors system vibration and temperature, allowing everyday users to access simple-to-use monitoring tools from iOS or Android mobile devices. According to Xylem, this enables operators to understand the health and historical trends of assets, create maintenance reminders and generate detailed reports. As a result, preventive maintenance can be scheduled before potential issues cause downtime. Xylem says optimyze is also useful when commissioning a pump and troubleshooting.
