The backlog of infrastructure needs is enormous, even though the totals thrown about are unrealistic, says SC-MA’s David Chereb. Demand for aggregate in the nonbuilding category remains the greatest. Demand will only grow more in the coming years. Photo: iStock.com/TerryJ

President Donald Trump plans to meet Tuesday with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer to discuss the prospects for infrastructure legislation, CNBC reports.

Pelosi revealed during the Time 100 Summit last week that they’ll explore the potential size, scope and resources for a prospective bill.

According to the National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association, Democrats said two weeks ago they would look to President Trump to support legislation that would invest up to $2 trillion to rebuild the nation’s infrastructure, including roads, bridges and schools.
