The National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (NSSGA) named veteran lobbyist Laura O’Neill-Kaumo as its senior vice president of government and regulatory affairs.

O’Neill-Kaumo previously served at the Owner Operator Independent Drivers Association, a transportation user group.

“Rocks build America, and President Trump’s call for a $1 trillion investment is a very real opportunity for our industry,” says Mike Johnson, president and CEO of NSSGA. “Laura joins our team at the perfect time to help advance a significant infrastructure bill and influence an ever-changing regulatory environment.”

O’Neill-Kaumo says she is excited to join NSSGA and help improve and modernize U.S. transportation infrastructure.

“Quarries produce the very building blocks of not only our country’s roads and bridges, but our homes, offices, schools, hospitals and communities,” she says. “Rebuilding our infrastructure improves our economy and employs thousands of people in good-paying jobs.”
