New Sandvik VP to join company from Metso

Sandvik Mining & Rock Technology named Victor Tapia vice president of sales.

Tapia will be based in Atlanta and is expected to start working with Sandvik in January 2020.

Tapia will join Sandvik from Metso, where he served as business area president and as a member of the Metso Group executive management team. He previously worked at Epiroc in different leadership positions, including as a division president.

Throughout his career, Tapia has taken on assignments abroad, including in Argentina, Mexico, Peru and Sweden. He has a bachelor of science degree in geology and a Master of Business Administration.

Sandvik Mining & Rock Technology is a business area within the Sandvik Group and a supplier of equipment and tools, service and technical solutions for the mining and construction industries. Application areas include rock drilling, rock cutting, crushing and screening, loading and hauling, tunneling, quarrying and breaking and demolition.
