The board of directors of the Missouri Limestone Producers Association (MLPA) selected Dan Kleinsorge to serve as the organization’s executive director, effective Jan. 4.

Kleinsorge takes over for Morgan Mundell, who joined MLPA in 2017.

“Dan has a wealth of experience in both government and the private sector that makes him an ideal fit for our organization,” says Brian Dockery of Central Stone Co., who currently serves MLPA as board president. “We are looking forward to the new year with Dan on our team.”

Kleinsorge, a graduate of Truman State University and the Truman School of Public Affairs at the University of Missouri, is currently the chief of staff to Missouri state senate president pro tem Dave Schatz. Kleinsorge previously served as executive director of Missouri Farmers Care from 2012 to 2015, managing the Right to Farm constitutional referendum and recount.

“Dan has been an integral part of my office for six years and I couldn’t be prouder of what we have accomplished in that time,” Schatz says. “We will miss him in the capitol, but I am glad that Missouri’s limestone producers will have Dan’s help in the years to come.”

Kleinsorge says he is excited about the opportunity to return to association management at MLPA.

“This organization has been well run for years and the bar is set high,” he says. “I look forward to working for an organization with an outstanding reputation and a mission I believe in.”

Kleinsorge lives in rural Callaway County, Missouri, with his wife, Jamie, and their daughter, Stella.
