Komatsu debuted the 299-hp WA480-8 yard loader that’s suitable for truck loading, carrying, stockpiling and hopper charging applications. The curved side edges of the Komatsu-designed 7.2-cu.-yd. bucket are built to minimize spillage, and the internal space and shape provide smooth material flow. The long bucket jaw and decreased strike plane angle help deliver easy fill and low resistance during pile penetration, Komatsu says, and the integrated load meter system in the cab lets operators see how much material is in the bucket. The WA480-8 offers visibility to the pile and surroundings, an advanced joystick steering system and an air-suspension seat, the company adds.

Spring impact roll offers unique advantages

Precision Pulley & Idler’s (PPI) new spring impact roll is made of high-strength tempered steel, providing impact absorption and durability. Where unsupported belting is vulnerable to impact damage, PPI says the spring impact roll has a natural trough shape of the spring that allows for continuous belt support with no roll gaps. The spring design responds to increasing loads by flexing more, increasing the troughing angle to accommodate the load. Additionally, PPI says the spring impact roll’s heavy-duty steel mounting brackets are designed to be a bolt-in replacement for existing impact or conventional idlers, providing extra strength in demanding conditions.

Secondary scalping screen line features three initial models

Powerscreen has a new range of secondary scalping screens, with a goal of providing the market with cost-effective solutions in high-volume, smaller-sized and recycling applications. The new Titan range includes three models – the Titan 600, Titan 1300 and Titan 2300. Powerscreen says Titan is a simplification of its Warrior range. The Titan 1300 is comprised of an extra-large-capacity twin-drive feeder at the rear of the machine with an 1,100-mm feeder belt. The Titan 2300, meanwhile, is a completely new machine to Powerscreen in terms of concept and design, encompassing a large belt feeder.
