David Zatezalo, the assistant secretary of the Mine Safety & Health Administration, is slated to be a featured speaker at the National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association’s (NSSGA) upcoming Legislative & Policy Forum in Washington, D.C.

Zatezalo is scheduled to visit the Legislative & Policy Forum on Nov. 18. The event runs Nov. 18-20.

Zatezalo, who has led MSHA since 2017, will discuss the importance of keeping the industry’s workers safe on the job, as well as the agency’s efforts to prevent death, illness and injury on worksites.

NSSGA expects to announce additional speakers for the Legislative & Policy Forum in the weeks to come.

In conjunction with Zatezalo’s appearance, NSSGA will recognize top aggregate operations and companies with its annual safety awards. NSSGA’s Safety Excellence Awards, which originated in 1987, recognize individual operations for maintaining safe workplaces.
