Motion Industries acquires Kentucky-based supplier

Motion IndustriesMotion Industries, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Genuine Parts Co., acquired Applied Machine and Motion Control (AMMC), a Kentucky-based supplier of automation and motion control products and services.

Founded in 1995 and headquartered in Park Hills, Kentucky, AMMC’s business largely comprises the markets of Kentucky, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, western Pennsylvania and West Virginia.

“As a premier supplier to the Ohio River Valley area and beyond, AMMC and its talented people will be instrumental in furthering our growth strategy geographically and in the automation arena,” says Randy Breaux, president of Motion Industries. “In addition to broadening our offering to customers, their go-to-market approach and line card are very similar to our other Mi Automation Solutions Group divisions, to which AMMC will be a nice complement. We are pleased to welcome them to the Motion family.”

Mi Automation Solutions Group customer offerings include conveyors, control panels, machine control, machine vision, network connectivity, pneumatics, robotics, aluminum extrusion, sensing I/O and other automation-related solutions.

AMMC’s engineering and application capabilities include specialty services such as drives, HMI, motion control, automation control, PC and embedded control, mechanical, robotics, motors and mechatronics. According to the company, AMMC’s customer base primarily consists of OEMs and a number of end users.
