Mid-States Materials received the 2022 Outstanding Mined Land Reclamation Award from the National Association of State Land Reclamationists (NASLF).

Mid-States earned the award for conservation efforts at Plummer Creek Quarry in Scranton, Kansas. The company says it was recognized for erosion control, the gradual grading of slopes, and the final vegetation that turned a 100-acre piece of the quarry into an agricultural asset.

“We continuously strive to be the model for the industry,” says Nick Jackson, environmental specialist at Mid-States. “[We are] extracting the resources for growth here in the present to provide a thriving future when we leave.”

According to the company, it has now received the NASLF award twice.
