The Metso Outotec name is no more, as the company’s board of directors opted to change the name to Metso Corp.

Metso says the Outotec name will continue as a brand for some technologies and products.

“After the successful integration of Metso and Outotec, we will focus on growing a strong unified Metso company and brand,” says Pekka Vauramo, president and CEO of Metso. “We have combined two valuable companies into one strong Metso. Our focus is clear: we continue enabling sustainable modern life and transforming the industry with a clear strategy and strong culture, supported by a name that is short yet established and well recognized among all our stakeholders. Services are an extremely important part of our business, requiring a strong name.”

In 2019, Metso came to an agreement with Outotec on a merger deal that created a combined company serving the aggregate, minerals and metals industries. The combined company, comprising Metso Minerals and Outotec but excluding Metso Flow Control, was called Metso Outotec.
