Sand Classifying Tanks are used to remove excess water in a slurry, classify sand by removing excess sizes, retain finer sands and make multiple products

Sand Classifying Tanks handle gradation swings in alluvial or crushed stone sand for concrete and asphalt specifications and mortar or concrete block products.

As sand and water enter the feed end of the tank, coarser sand settles first with finer solids following. Hydraulic controls at the top of the Classifying Tank operate discharge valves. When a valve opens, sand flows to a divided collecting flume and then to dewatering equipment.

McLanahan Sand ManagerĀ® Classifying Tanks use Allen Bradley automation that allows remote operation. Easier maintenance is provided via Twist-Lok valve seats and PVC down pipes.
