McLanahan’s horizontal shaft rubber lined range of pumps has been supplemented by its vertical shaft version for reliable duty in sand separation systems. Utilizing a split casing design and the same replaceable rubber wet end components featured in the horizontal shaft version, the pump is designed to handle sand sized solids in suspension. The pump is fitted with a proprietary mechanical gland seal, and the four-bearing shaft is designed to reduce overhung loads that result in the early bearing failure common with vertical shaft pumps, the company says.
