McCloskey International hosted a press conference Wednesday at AGG1, offering updates on its business segments while presenting details about new equipment.

The company noted how McCloskey Environmental emerged as a new global brand earlier this year. McCloskey Environmental focuses on recycling, featuring equipment such as shredders, trommels, stackers and more.

“That market segment is going to be booming in the next few years,” says Toni Laaksonen, senior vice president at Metso Outotec, which acquired McCloskey in 2019. “This will be a big thing.”

John O’Neill, vice president of sales at McCloskey, noted that his company has appointed 15 new dealers around the world over the last year. He added that the company is making efforts for the Lippmann brand to become more global.

“Previously, it was a North American-focused product line,” O’Neill says. “We sold it around the world, but it was limited. The brand is doing so well that we want to give it the opportunity to be a global brand. We appointed some Lippmann dealers in Europe, Australia – anywhere there are large quarry operations. That’s where the Lippmann brand is going to fit in.”

Ben Frettsome, product line director at MWS Equipment, offered updates on behalf of his brand.

“There is a lot of new legislation coming through promoting companies to find a secondary use for a waste stream,” Frettsome says. “Our big focus is making sure we build out a portfolio fit for the North American market because it’s quite different than the European approach.”
